Greater Nevada Credit Union’s members, employees, and other supporters unite each summer to collect and donate new school supplies to help local students start the new school year on the right foot. This collective effort highlights our passion for our kids’ educational success.
The 2024 donation period is open now through Friday, Aug. 2, at all GNCU branches!
Many students lack the necessary supplies to succeed in the classroom, and teachers often use personal funds to purchase them. According to the National Education Alliance, teachers across the country spend between $500 and $750 out-of-pocket to subsidize their classrooms, and inflation has caused the prices of school supplies to increase nearly 24% within the past two years.
Since launching in 2021 and measuring with a standard shopping cart, GNCU’s Greater School Supplies Drive has collected and donated a significant amount of supplies over the years!
Items collected will be donated to the following organizations and schools in need based on the GNCU branch or Greater Nevada Mortgage office location.
GNCU South Reno, Northwest Reno, University, Golden Valley, Spanish Springs, and Vista branches | GNM Reno office
