Greater Nevada Credit Union’s Greater Giving Campaign Brings Holiday Cheer
At Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU), the holiday season is a time to reflect on the importance of giving and supporting our communities. Through our annual Greater Giving campaign, we rallied our members, employees, and community partners to make a positive difference during a time of year that can be especially challenging for those in need.
Greater Giving Donation Drive
In November and December, each GNCU branch collected donations of non-perishable food items, clothing, and toys, benefiting several charitable organizations across Northern Nevada.
- Washoe County: Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Children’s Cabinet
- Carson City: Friends in Service Helping (FISH) and Advocates to End Domestic Violence (AEDV)
- Dayton: Healthy Communities Coalition
- Fernley: Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe
- Elko: Committee Against Domestic Violence (CADV)
- Ely: David E. Norman Elementary School
Spirit of the Season
As part of our Greater Giving campaign, GNCU partnered with the Reno Philharmonic’s Spirit of the Season to support local organizations. Donations collected during the event were delivered to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and Renown Children’s Hospital, spreading joy and vital resources to families in need.
KTVN’s Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive
For the fifth year in a row, GNCU partnered with KTVN Channel 2 for the annual Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive, benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and local food pantries. This year, our Washoe County branches helped collect an impressive 2,678 pounds of food to help fight food insecurity during the holiday season. (That’s 2,231 families fed!) Together, we ensured families across Nevada had access to holiday meals and essentials.
Campaign Highlights and Beneficiary Organizations
Thanks to the overwhelming support of our members, employees, and partners, GNCU’s Greater Giving campaign achieved incredible results:
- Over $15,000 donated to local organizations supporting families in need.
- An estimated 3,500 pounds of food collected through donation drives.
- Hundreds of toys, coats, and essential items distributed to children and families in the community.
