Plan for a Richer Retirement:
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)
Do you want to fully enjoy your retirement years? Not worrying about your finances will be an important factor. Whether you're ready to start a retirement plan, or refining your current one, Greater Nevada can help you with a variety of IRAs.
In our ongoing efforts to serve your needs we’ve added a new IRA resource. Visit our IRA Center™, where you will find informational articles, planning tools and calculators, investment options and forms for traditional and ROTH IRAs.
Your Choice of IRA Shares or Certificates
Greater Nevada offers you a choice of IRAs, including Share Accounts and Certificates. An IRA Share Account requires no minimum balance or term, and pays a variable rate — perfect for a first time IRA, or for "short-term parking" of your existing IRA while you decide where to reinvest it.
IRA Certificates require a minimum balance and term, but typically pay a higher fixed rate for those members looking for a longer-term investment.

Traditional or Roth
Once you decide on Shares or Certificates, you also have the choice of a Traditional or Roth IRA. Which one is best for you? Generally, traditional IRA contributions are tax deductible and are taxed as ordinary income upon withdrawal. With Roth IRAs, contributions are not tax deductible, though they are free from federal tax upon withdrawal*.
Special Distribution IRA
If you have reached the age when you must take an annual required distribution, Greater Nevada has an IRA certificate that allows for minimum distributions without penalties for early withdrawals. For more information please visit any Greater Nevada branch or call our Member Resource Center at (775) 882-2060.
No matter which IRA product you choose, remember that your traditional and Roth IRA accounts
are insured up to $250,000 , by the National
Credit Union Administration, a U.S. Government Agency. For more information about retirement planning and
investment services, please call
(775) 882-2060 or (800) 421-6674, or visit any Greater Nevada branch.
